“Davido is still my brother” – Dammy Krane declares as he regains freedom from police custody (Video)

Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has finally been released from police custody, almost a week after being detained for defaming his colleague, Davido.

NewsWatch reported that days before Davido’s wedding, Dammy had called the singer a murderer, as he claimed that Davido was only getting married because Chioma caught him cheating.

His statement had gotten him into trouble as Davido’s lawyer gave him 24 hours to retract all offensive publications against Davido on his social media handles. He was also asked to refrain from further publication of defamatory statements against Davido on any platform or risk facing legal actions.

Last week, the singer was arrested and was set to face criminal charges for his defamatory statements and slanderous publications against the singer.

Luckily for him, Davido has dropped all charges and allowed his release. In a video captured online, Dammy Krane, making his first public statement, appreciated Very Dark Man, who he called his brother. He noted how netizens would be surprised with the link-up.

Dammy admitted that he knew he said lots of words that weren’t supposed to be said, and he apologised. He reminded netizens that Davido is still his brother and they will find a major ground to resolve everything.

“I want to say a big thank you to my brother, Very Dark Man. I know you all weren’t expecting it. I know there were many words that ought not to be said, I apologize for this Tagbo-death allegation and all that. Make una still remember Davido is still my brother, and we are going to find a major ground to resolve everything”.

Recall that for years now, Davido and Dammy Krane have been at loggerheads after the latter accused him of owing him money. In response, Davido highlighted his support for Dammy Krane in the past, including providing him with accommodation when he needed it. However, Dammy Krane maintained that this support does not negate the financial debt owed to him.

This disagreement has escalated over time, with Dammy Krane repeatedly calling out Davido on social media, accusing him of being a habitual debtor. He had even claimed that the singer almost tried killing him as he recounted his harrowing near-fatal incident at a Lagos nightclub club late last year.
